Facebook announced the launch of its dating app via blog post in the US. Facebook dating also allows its users to integrate their Instagram posts directly into the dating app profile. The company aims at bringing Facebook and Instagram Stories to Facebook dating profile also by the end of the year. For security and privacy, the app comes with the ability to report and block anyone. Prohibiting people from sending photos, links, payments or videos in messages also by offering simple access to safety tips. How It Works In order to create a Dating Profile, the user should be above 18 years old and have downloaded the recent version of Facebook. The Facebook Dating profile is separate from the user’s main profile. The app will also display the profiles that have opted into the dating app. The company says that the user is recommended people based on their preferences, interests and other things they do on Facebook. It does not work like Tinder swiping and waiting for other person to like them. The user can directly comment or hit the like button on the profile they like the most. If you aren’t interested, you can pass on them. It does not suggest friends from your Facebook profile unless you choose to use Secret Crush and you both add each other to your list. Otherwise, it suggests a match with friends of friends and/or people, not in your friend circle. Facebook confirms that all the dating activity will not be shared on your Facebook profile. People using Facebook Dating can share details of their upcoming date and/or live location with someone they trust via Messenger.
